When bass fishing in 2-8' feet of grassy flats with stumps, what should I use? Mostly largemouth in shallows?
In Lake James, NC. it was a cove that when the water got really low, grass grew and trees got cut down. Many fallen trees, stumps, with grassy bottom. WHAT SHOULD I USE? THANKS
Is it alright for me to have line on my fishing pole that holds about 52 pounds?
There is fishing line at a store that is 13 dollars and I feel like getting it. Just because a few days ago I had a like 35 inch fish on my hook and it broke the hook and got off. The line is kind of thick and I think it is black. I fish in Lake Ontario a lot. Should I get it? My line is 30 pounds right now but it is crap and when I open the barrel it all comes out and I cant cast that far with it
How can I find a good fishing spot?
I am going fishing in a river off the Chesapeake Bay and I was wondering in what type of spot would I have the best chances? Should I be in deeper water or near the shore? and what time of day is best and what bait should I use? Please help a beginner we dont really know what were fishing for, we're just going to go out on our boat and hope for the best

Newport beach harbor fishing tips please?
first time saltwater fishing. im going to newport beach harbor on a skiff and need some help. What baits, rods, reels, tackle should i be using? how do i find the fish and is there a big difference between saltwater and freshwater? i hear there are a lot of spotted bass and halibut right now. and im mainly going to be targeting those. are there any bigger fish in harbors like yellowtail or tuna? thanks for the help. any additional tips or experiences would help.
My spring for the clip of my fishing reel broke does it matter?
Basically can you still use the reel to fish and just put the clip over by hand or will it not work?sorry if im not quite percise but you know the clip that you put your line over so you can reel back in well when i put it up to cast you can normally turn the handle and the clip will close itself so you can reel well it doesnt close itself, can i still use it or will it need fixed?

Ok i'm going out with a friend to go fishing but i dont know a dang thing i've been in bass pro shop three days in a row trying to learn what I need to know to not look like an idiot, but i still need some help. this would include commercial catches, spearfishing, catches that have been otherwise disqualified by the IGFA, and individuals that have been found dead.
